Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana collaborated with the digital, luxury marketplace, and NFT creators UNXD, in September 2021 to design and successfully sell a physical and digital designer collection. The collection which is called the “Collezione Genesi” (collection genesis in English) consists of physical pieces and digital designer pieces in the form of NFTs. Founder of Nevora, and UNXD_NFT, Shashi Menon was pleased to announce that the collaboration is the future of fashion and NFTs. Crypto × Culture he called it.
The Collezione Genesi is a nine-piece physical and NFT-backed collection designed by Dolce and Gabbana and executed by UNXD. The collection includes five physical pieces; the dress from a dream in silver and gold, the glass suit, and two crowns; the Lion crown and the Doge crown. These physical pieces of couture had NFT replicas designed by UNXD.
The Collezione Genesi also displayed four other magnificent pieces which are fully digital with no physical representation thanks to their ‘otherworldly’ features. The four pieces are; The Impossible Tiara, and three men’s jackets including; The Velvet Impossible jacket, The Mosaic Impossible Jacket, and the Golden Impossible Jacket. Each of the pieces is an astonishing sight to behold.

WHO WERE THE BUYERS?
Three of the collection’s pieces were acquired by Red DAO; First off, the most expensive piece featured in the collection, The Doge Crown, a luxurious ornament adorned with seven blue sapphires and a hundred and forty-two diamonds displayed physically and virtually raked in a whopping 423.50 ETH valued at $1.25 million for the designers as at the time of the auction. The second is The Velvet Impossible Jacket, a fully digital piece designed with respect to Venetian brocade fabrics as revealed by the designers. It is a colorful and charming piece with sequins with deep green crocodiles on the collar, cuffs, and hem. The piece was valued and purchased at 97.436 ETH by DAO.
The physical pieces in the collection were displayed at the Alta Moda Couture event in Venice, where they were auctioned and sold between the 21st and 30th of September. The physical pieces were digitally represented by UNXD and each of the pieces came with experiential, physical, and digital benefits, like access to future DG apparel drops, and access to future events. OTHERWORLDLY BEAUTY.
The Impossible Tiara; is a headpiece said to hold monumental beauty and rare gems despite being only digital (as an NFT). It is an artistic piece second to none that features extraterrestrial gems, “that can’t quite be found on Earth” said the designers. On it are embedded sixty-three striking red emeralds, seven hundred and thirteen turquoise blue paraiba tourmaline and fifty extraterrestrial diamonds. It was acquired by Pranksy—an NFT investor— for 99.90 ETH. Last of The Golden Impossible Jacket, a piece of shimmering, gold-plated couture. The jacket which was inspired by St. Marks Basilica’s sequins and is embroidered with sequins and gold plated crocodile along the collar, cuffs, and hem was acquired by pranksy for 99.99 ETH. The payment to Dolce and Gabbana for the collection’s pieces were made at market rates not at the value of Ether at the time of the auction.
The designers promised to continue the luxury journey with the DG family as they introduced their DG family boxes coming in three variants.

Each variant had greater holder benefits with increased rarity. The boxes are in black, gold, and platinum and are based on ornately carved, carretto-styled boxes built to hold so much; digitally and physically. This entire groundbreaking collection sold for $1,885.719 ETH which is a very historic price in the history of digital fashion.
